Supporting innovation in Publishing at Readmagine

It was another first for Shimmr last week, with our Founder & Chief Product Officer Searsha Sadek speaking alongside our fabulous Publishing Lead Emma House at Readmagine24 in Madrid. Joining them among the week’s incredible line up of speakers were Shimmr's other strategic advisors, Madeline McIntosh and Richard Charkin.

One of the most interesting talking points Searsha and Emma covered in their panels was: 'What is the biggest motivator of innovation - a passion for something, or loathing an issue?" 🤔 Searsha's perspective = loathing and frustration!

A big thank you to Luis González and José Manuel Anta for hosting us, we're looking forward to the next one!

About Readmagine

Readmagine is the Week of Digital Innovation in Reading, Books and Libraries, organized by the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation (FGSR) in its headquarters of Madrid: Casa del Lector. It consists of a set of conversations, workshops, conferences, meetings and other formats for the exchange of ideas around the process of transformation reading and books.

Readmagine was organised for the first time in 2006 and since that first edition always hosted conversations among publishing and digital media, urbanism, fashion, marketing, video gaming and other fields of action. With this approach FGSR seeks to promote learning across the boundaries as a mean for innovation.

Since 2013 it has been carried out uninterruptedly at the FGSR headquarters in Madrid: Casa del Lector. Not even in the harsh spring of 2020 Readmagine was interrupted, although on that occasion it was organized online with the participation of professionals from five continents through presentations or on-line working groups.

This conference brings together the most innovative segment of the world of books and reading. Each year Readmagine is organised with a special focus around some issue, trend or challenge and this theme influences most of the dialogues and presentations.
